Decorating is a blast! You want kids to be excited about coming to church. Creating a cool theme environment hammers away at the notion that "church is boring"! With a great theme, you'll cause children to be more comfortable at your church and eager to come back after Vacation Bible School is over.

Classrooms

You can decorate 50' of wall space up to 8' high for under $50. This stuff looks amazing. Instead of spending valuable hours creating your own Vacation Bible School decorations, you can pop these up in minutes.

Leave them up after Vacation Bible School! Use your beach or ocean theme throughout the summer or year.

Sanctuary/Worship Center

This room is where the big stuff goes! At the center of the stage, create a large eye-catching centerpiece. Try one of these ideas:

If like most of us, you're budget's pretty limited, you can get great ideas from them in order to build something like it yourself.

To make your stage look like a water wonderland, use Scene Setters or PATTERNED CORRUGATED PAPER 4'X25' WATER to serve as a backdrop. Add green plants to serve as seaweed. These huge 7' Airblown Palm Trees are great to display on each side of the stage. Hang Raffia Tableskirts over any permanent stage fixtures that distract from your theme. Of course, lots of balloons make perfect "bubbles"!

Buy a large canvas drop cloth and paint your VBS logo on it. To add your logo, attach the drop cloth to a wall, trace your logo from a transparency on an overhead machine set at the appropriate distance. After you've traced the logo, paint it with an oil or water based paint.

Also:

*Hang Custom Banners inside or outside the church.

*Paint a giant fish mouth or sunset onto plywood to add to your backdrop.
