Western Theme Decorating
Decorating is a blast! You want kids to be excited about coming to church. Creating a cool theme environment hammers away at the notion that "church is boring"! With a great theme, you'll cause children to be more comfortable at your church and eager to come back after Vacation Bible School is over.

Snack & Craft Rooms For your "chow time", cover your tables with a Red Bandana Tablecover. With some pvc pipe and canvas drop cloth, you can create a super cool chuck wagon cover! Bring in some fake Christmas trees to give your snack time a fun outdoor feel. Add a fake campfire on the floor, hang "Stars" from the ceiling, and play some soft western music, and you've got the ultimate snack room!

If like most of us, you're budget's pretty limited, you can get great ideas from them in order to build something like it yourself.
To
make your stage look like a ranch, start with lots of hay. Add
saddles, blankets, rakes, and cowboy hats, as well. For great photos
of your kids and/or leaders, use these
JAIL
Buy a large canvas drop cloths and paint your VBS logo on it. To add your logo, attach the drop cloth to a wall, trace your logo from a transparency on an overhead machine set at the appropriate distance. After you've traced the logo, paint it with an oil or water based paint.
Also: *Hang cowboy and horse and posters on the walls. *Make a giant horseshoe out of plywood to add to your backdrop. *Decorate BIG with some large stage props from Shindigz.
